  1. i was wondering how much does it cost to register a company in Malaysia and make a bank account for that company so i can link my Malaysian paypal account to my Malaysian bank account under my business name? and please make the followings clear:

    in how many ways i can verify my Malaysian paypal account? for example in usa they will need:

    -bank accoun

    -social security number…

  3. I made a purchase of A Double Live DVD from London and paid using my Maybank credit card to Paypal on 10.6.10 and my Transaction ID: IRJ2669346662592L.Paypal acknowledge the payment but the seller did not provide any shipping details. Can you help.

  5. david – no cost, free of charge

    mas – use your bank account number. eg: Public Bank have 10 digit on their account number. Use it & register it on your paypal. then you can withdraw anytime. Usually it will take 4-5 days to be available on our local bank.

    arin – you can check it manually by log in online or through your atm bank

    @mas, if you want to accept payment by paypal, simplest is to give your paypal email to your customers, ask them send money. or you can create “request fund” or invoice in paypal, just ask for your customer emails.

    if you are selling stuffs online, maybe you want to consider sign up webShaper Stores, a full fledge, search engine friendly ecommerce solution which you can easily setup paypal into the checkout process.

    @Wlfred Ragam, have you tried contacted the merchant on this?

    @kln – The minimum amount you can transfer is RM40. Additionally, if you choose to transfer amounts less than RM400, there’ll be a RM3 service charge. There is no charge for amounts of RM400 or more.

    Currently, my PayPal is done in USD. If I link it to my bank account in Malaysia, do I have to change the currency to RM first?

    By accepting RM on PayPal, will that cause confusion to international buyers?

    Congrats to Paypal for one step forward! What about a Malaysian who has say a Maybank Account (Current) and he wishes to transfer some fund (add fund) from his Maybank Account to Paypal. Can this functionality be enabled by Paypal? I think Paypal disallows “Add fund” at the moment. If this’add fund’function (either transfer from credit card or a Malaysian bank account)can be allowed, it will be convenient to many others.

    @adzrul, yes, you can. but you can’t verify it (which is important), so you can use it to send MORE money, and take even MORE money (sell your products or services) 🙂

    If you dn’t have a credit card, but you are over 18 yrs old, debit card like http://www.paypal-mol.com is a good choice to.

    @Sam, to link it, you gonna use a local address account. And no, it won’t cause confusion if you do it correctly. Even if you don’t have a webStore (like webShaper), you can manually bill your clients (ask for money, or invoice)on the currency type already supported in your account.

    @Richard, refer to michelle’s reply. As for credit card, you just tied to it, whenever you make payment via PayPal, it will automatically charge the amount to your CC

    @Ariffin, If you have tried and it can’t, means for now it can’t. You might want to check with PayPal directly on this.

  20. Hello Admin. i wanna ask that the FORM that `add a bank account in malaysia` . The Bank name i have to put Malayan Banking Berhad? Because i put Maybank . And i have other question.. I had just registered my paypal and its verified and i had receive money from other people in my PAYPAL. Unfortunately, when i withdraw my money to my bank account, the status to transfer to bank account is PENDING because need 2-3 days. I did this when 16 august and yesterday the status is change to completed.. But after i checked my bank account, i found that the money is not in my account !. Does it matter on MALAYAN BANKING BERHAD or Maybank in the form ?? PLEASE help me =(

  21. hi kevin, you should put as “MALAYAN BANKING BERHAD – MBBEMYKL”

    However, if you put in the swift code correctly, it should work well too. But do check with your banks or PayPal on this if the money is deducated from your PayPal balance, and yet to show up in your Maybank account!

    I’m now setting up a DEBIT card at CIMB, then link PAY PAL to it. So when the money comes in, straight go to my DEBIT acc, rite? I can now withdraw it fm GIANT HYPERMARKET or use it on a purchase.

  26. @eelin, yes, you are right. if your debit card is linked to a saving / current account, it should work.

    @tony, it’s free to sign up a PayPal account (for buyers or merchants). for now, you can’t transfer money from your Malaysia Bank Accoutns to PayPal. But if you have singapore DBS / POSB Bank, you can!

    @arabella, of course you can. Just that you won’t be able to verify your account, thus limiting the amount you can send / receive.

    @kevin, you mean you sending us money? LOL. if you mean link and then transfer paypal balance to your bank account, normally it will take 3~5 working days for the balance to show up.

    I am planning to start an online Business with Ebay/us, Ebay/uk recently and it’s real great to have this website can help me to solve some confusions.

    First of all, I used to sell some electronic stuff when I study in U.S, so I do have 1 Paypal account and 2 ebay accounts in ebay/us.

    Question is, if I want to come back and set up an online business, meanwhile I have to register for another paypal account? Since I registered a Paypal account before, does that means I couldn’t use my name again? I believe if so, its going to cause lot of trouble if my name in Paypal is different with the bank account name(if I could not use my ‘real name’)

    Also, is the Paypal linked with msia bank account, the functions are same as Paypal U.S? We can add/withdraw fund to/from paypal to our bank account whenever we want to?(just 4 or 5 days?)

    Last question is, if I am buying/selling something to U.S seller/buyer, how’s the currency going to be converted? I mean how I will be charged, is there any extra fee?

    i’m still confuse how to use paypal..
    i dont have any credit card.. but i would like to transfer some money using paypal..

    let say i have RM1000 in my bank islam account, and i pay someone RM200 through my paypal account which i linked to my bank islam account, does RM200 will be automatically deducted from my bank islam account?

    if not, is there any other way to debit any money to my paypal account without using any credit card?

  39. @jes, try to upgrade your paypal account (to biz, if possible), see if it can be updated to a malaysia address, then link to your local bank account. if this works, then you don’t have to apply for a new account.

    Latest (as of 20th Oct 2010),you can use RHB to top up your paypal, for others bank, you can only withdraw paypal money to it and cash out (period!)

    Buying using paypal should not cost you anything extra, selling is (paypal charge party receiving funds)! Conversion is up to PayPal of course.

    @cika, nope, you can’t do that now (transfer money from bank to paypal acc), latest new is RHB can do it! but still, i don’t think it can be done automatically like the way your credit card is charged (if no balance in your paypal account) when you buy something online and pay with paypal. Means you gonna top up and make sure paypal got the enough balance to make the purchase.

    Alternatively, consider to use a debit card, like PayPal-MOL, you can top up your card, then paypal with charge the card like its charging credit card when you buy things online! learn more at http://www.paypal-mol.com

  40. @afas, nope. again, for now you cannot add funds to paypal using maybank. you either need a credit card, or apply a debit card (buy PayPal-MOL card at nearest 7eleven). For debit card, make sure there’s enough balance in the card to make purchase online with PayPal!

    @ nurul, first, you sign up a paypal premier / biz account. then, you can send payment request to your customer email, or invoice them (via paypal control panel). It doesn’t matter how your customers get their fund from, you will get paid if there’s balance or their account is already tied to a credit card (also means it’s verified)

    @ kamal, interesting, from PayPal to malaysia bank account, minimal withdrawal is RM40, for verified account, paypal said no limit, but think about it, why would bank negara disallow money put into our bank? It only makes sense bank negara trying not to encourage topping up of PayPal (Malaysia bank to PayPal Account aka money flows out)

    @ putra, you can’t do that now, but RHB today just announced they can!

All it asks for is the bank number. I could just give someone’s else number and withdraw money from it. Is there no confirmation or anything when a transaction is done?

    I’m using Maybank’s Yippie savings account (underage..) and was wondering if I linked it with Paypal, will the bank call or anything to confirm?

  44. @wawa, go get one (debit card is easily applied, go 7eleven grab a PayPal-MOL card or buy at http://paypal-mol.com. Be verified, so customers can have more confident paying you

    @xaoisora, glad you like it, already like http://facebook.com/webshaper ? of coz for paypal linkage to bank, most people or business want to transfer the money from paypal to the bank, so they can utilize the fund to pay off salary! What do you mean by “give someone else number and withdraw money from it?” ? heck, you need password to access paypal before linkage is done, of coz there’s no way for you to easiy withdraw money from other people account.

    If you link your paypal to your saving account, i don’t think they bank will call you. (our bank never call us)

    Thank you very much for a lot of your input to PayPal. I am very impressed by your knowledge, but I would like to make a few corrections. Nothing major, more of terminology.

    Incidentally the MOL-PayPal Digital Card is not a debit card. It is a prepaid VISA card. ie. you need to load the card with cash before you can actually use it.

    Yes, you are also correct that you can Top Up your PayPal account via RHB internet banking. So there is no need for anyone to reveal their credit/debit card information online. But I think the case would be more for people who do not have a credit card to be able to Top Up to their PayPal account and shop. This service is free.

    Over on top of the Top Up service, you can also send money via your RHB Internet Banking account to anyone who has an email. The sender need not be a PayPal user but the receiver would need to have a PayPal account to receive the cash. Cross border fees and admin fees are applicable.

    Just food for thought(sooner rather than later)you will soon be able to Top Up your PayPal Account from the FPX participating banks via RHB FPX.
